Up until 2021 the National Business Review (NBR) magazine used to show the Top 20 rich listers in NZ. Every year the number of Pak n Save and New World franchise owners grew. In 2021 there were six of the franchisers in the top 20 list. Since then, the list has not appeared again. I suspect that Foodstuffs head office put pressure on the NBR to desist from showing the list. I mean who would want the loyal customers of Pak n Save and New World to know that their grocery spend was making fats cats out of the franchise owners. And we were talking in to $60-$80-million-dollar mark. And they say we bring the lowest prices. Really.
